Leading the Way
Dog Training & Guide Dogs

The Leading the Way Guide Dog Program offers both Guide Dogs children as young as 10 year of age.

Our belief is that the earlier independence is achieved, the
more successful one’s future can be.

To Apply for a Guide Dog
Guide Dogs are provided to qualified applicants who wish to further their personal independence. All dogs are trained to meet the unique needs of the selected client.

Please note that Guide Dogs are dogs highly trained to meet the needs of a person with a disability. They are not pets, nor machines. Dogs live an average of 8-14 years and making the decision to get a service dog is a long-term commitment. While these amazing dogs provide the gift of independence, there is also a substantial amount of work on the part of the human in the service dog team.
