4-H Pioneer K-9 Club

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!

 NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED—DOGS NEED NO TRAINING EXPERIENCE

4-H Pioneer K-9 Dog Club is a FUN CLUB for kids of all ages (7-18 years) and their dogs, with having fun in bi-weekly training classes and monthly club meetings.

4-H Pioneer K-9 Club meets Whatley area (mins from Northampton). You don't need to own a pure breed canine to learn about training, agility, obedience, showmanship, good grooming, dog health issues, and how to show your dog to the best of it's potential (handling). Community Service projects are also a strong part of our club; the members choose the focus of their service. There are many other FUN events and activities planned throughout the year for the club members to participate in: Dog Camp, Educational Workshops & Seminars, Dog Shows and other events.

4-H is a FUN learning program for boys & girls ages 5- 18. It helps youth develop their skills and talent to their fullest. 4-H is open to everyone!

Parents/Guardians MUST attend 1st meeting!

About 4-H

Youth learn through the experiential learning model in 4-H, also known as “hands-on” learning. This process has youth engaged in an activity and then allows time for sharing and processing the information gained through the activity. The volunteer club leader guides young people through the process.

This learning takes place at the club level in towns and cities throughout Massachusetts. Educational activities and competitive events occur at the county or regional level. Youth have the option to participate in these. There are also state level educational activities and competitive events. In most cases, youth must qualify for the statewide competitive events through a county or regional competition.

The Massachusetts 4-H program is focusing its resources in three areas: these are animal science, communications, and community service. A network of programs and events is available in these areas to support 4-H club members and volunteers. For additional information about programs available in these areas, see:
